Principal's Message - May 10, 2024
Hello Wales Families!
We hope that everyone had a great week. It’s been a busy week at Wales! It was staff appreciation week, and it was an amazing week of being treated and spoiled with the red-carpet treatment. Thank you to all our PTO parents who helped coordinate this fun week and to our families who donated to help us feel extra special!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the special mother figures in our lives that help us each and every day. Take a moment this weekend to celebrate and thank them.
The flower sale was a great success, and the hanging baskets are beautiful! Next week we will host our Kindergarten orientation and our 4th grader orchestra and band students will go to the Middle School to have a rehearsal for their upcoming concert. Our Kindergarten students will entertain us on Friday with their performance and that evening the PTO STEAM night and ice cream social will be a fun evening for all! Last weekend on Cinco De Mayo (5/5) we celebrated my father’s 80th birthday. This celebration was extra special to our family because 30 years ago my father was diagnosed with cancer and following surgery, was sent home with hospice and the diagnosis of a few weeks to live. A dear friend of the family, who was a Dr, helped us begin his journey to remission by agreeing to help with chemo. There were many days that my mother, sister, and I prayed over my father and my mother cared for him daily in our home through his illness. My father’s story validated for our family the strength we hold within to support one another and reminds us to cherish the moments and what a precious gift family is.
